I want to encourage everyone who's in the Vancouver area and who loves musicals to come out and see PROMISES, PROMISES, a wonderful show now playing at the Metro Theatre

Not just because I know several people who are in the show - but because it's terrific, and they haven't gotten the publicity they need to bring out the crowds this show deserves

I went to see it at last Friday night's preview performance and I can vouch for the fact that it's great! And no surprise - it has a laugh-filled script by Neil Simon, and a catchy score by Burt Bacharach and Hal David (played to lush perfection by a top-notch band with lots of brass plus backup singers for that trademark Bacharach sound!)

The show is based on the movie THE APARTMENT, and captures both the humour and pathos of that great story wonderfully The cast does a great job from the leads to the character roles (Tyler Felbel is a delight as a kind and funny doctor)

Full houses for a great musical like this will encourage more of them to be produced - and small crowds will not only hurt the show, they'll convince the Metro that there's no audience for musicals here I don't think that's true So go see a fun musical PROMISES, PROMISES!
