Report from Anatevka: Costume Parade

Rehearsals are heading into the final phase for Footlight Theatre's production of Fiddler on the Roof. This week we have been running the whole show, start to finish, and making careful note of comments and feedback from our director/choreographer Lalainaia Lindbjerg.

A highlight this past weekend was the "costume parade" – where we all got to try on our costumes for the first time! With the women in peasant dresses and head scarves, and the men in sombre hats and vests, with the fringe from traditional prayer shawls hanging down from their waists, we were the very vision of an authentic Russian village.

Fiddler on the Roof opens Friday, November 10, 2006 at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts in Burnaby and runs to November 26th. Tickets are available by calling (604) 205-3000.
