See, or volunteer for, the "Sing-Along Carmina Burana"!

I'm producing (well, my title is Producer but it's really more of a logistical/stage manager) an impressive upcoming choral music event: the Sing-Along Carmina Burana, produced by City Opera Vancouver, a new group dedicated to producing chamber opera. This will be an unprecedented event the likes of which have not been seen before in Vancouver. The audience itself will also form the 1,000-voice chorus for the concert. It all happens Friday, October 26, at 8pm, at St. Andrew's Wesley Church.

If any of you are interested in attending this concert, check out the City Opera website for complete details, including links to tickets at a discount for members of community choirs.

Also, I need lots of volunteers to assist on the evening of the event, with the various tasks at the venue including ticket-taking and sales, ushers, handing out music, etc. It's a great way to be involved and to see the concert, for free!

If you'd like to volunteer, please email me. Thanks!

Everyday Superheroes

It's lunch hour on a Monday in downtown Vancouver. Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird... it's a plane... it's courageous (crazy?) folks sliding down a high-rise, dressed as superheroes, for Easter Seals. And among those brave few was my friend Baila Lazarus! Watch the video!

Fringe Festival 2007

Another year, another Fringe. Unlike 2006, when I had the benefit of a Fringe pass thanks to my assistance with the festival’s website, this year I was on my own. I only saw a few shows, but I had a very satisfying experience and saw some great shows, including one which has been selected for the upcoming “Pick of the Fringe”! READ MORE!

Matt, the Dancing Man

On Wednesday, September 5, Matthew Harding - the “dancing man” of global Internet fame, and the website phenomenon wherethehellismatt.com - arrived in Vancouver on the first leg of his North American tour. (If you haven’t yet seen what Matt did to get so well known, check out his site.) I documented the proceedings in a short video. Watch the video!
