For this month’s update, I’m featuring the play “Poor Super Man” at the Waterfront - for which I created captions and projections that appear throughout. It’s an edgy play sprinkled with nudity and sex (which is why I’m glad I’m behind the scenes, not onstage!) - but it also has big laughs, affecting characters, and a lot of heart. I highly recommend it. Read more below.

Also, I had to join in the Vancouver Freeze, a public art / performance type of thing, inspired by a similar event in NYC. For five minutes, everything seemed to come to a halt - it was wacky and fun, and raised more than a few passerby’s eyebrows. Check below for photos and a video!

Hope you enjoy these updates. This month I’m tinkering “under the hood” in the hopes of solving display problems that some people experienced last month. If you still see a big mess instead of a nicely formatted newsletter, let me know by emailing me at adamabrams@PROTECTED. Thanks!

Poor Super Man

PSM castNow playing at the Waterfront Theatre is Poor Super Man, with projections created by none other than yours truly! I was happy for the opportunity to work with David C. Jones, local funnyman extraordinaire, who is branching out by directing this edgy, comic drama about relationships - gay, straight and otherwise - set in Calgary circa 1994.

The Vancouver “Freeze” Improv Event

Adam in the Vancouver FreezeA group called ImprovEverywhere did a pretty spectacular thing recently in NYC - freezing in place for five minutes in Grand Central Station, much to the chagrin, bewilderment and amusement of passersby. Happily, this inspired some locals to replicate the event right here in Vancouver. Even more happily, I was able to join in! So have a look at the Vancouver freeze.
