It's been quite awhile since I last sent out a New's Letter. I hope this finds you well! So far, 2007 has kept me busy with work, auditions, my a cappella group - VERVE Collective, and life. I have yet to book an acting gig for this year, but I've had some amazing auditions, which included a pre-screen and audition for one of Vancouver's biggest casting directors! I didn't get the job, but it was nice to finally be brought in (twice!) and be seen. And last month, VERVE Collective was featured at a private fundraising gala for Pacific Theatre, held at the Vancouver Art Gallery. If you ever get a chance to sing at the Art Gallery, do it - it's just beautiful and the sound is amazing.

Come hear VERVE Collective - March 24th!
VERVE Collective has been asked to return to The Purple Crab to sing at their open mic night. We had a great time the first time around, but the snow storm kept many people stuck at home. (Remember that crazy heavy snow fall back in November?) Now's your chance to check us out in a fun and intimate setting.

The Purple Crab is a restaurant, so all ages may attend. As long as you're a music lover, you are welcome to come join in the fun. Our set won't be too long, so it will be a cool chance to visit afterwards. It's a pretty small place, so reservations are recommended - just call (604) 484-2436.

THE DETAILS: Saturday, March 24th. We sing at 8:00pm. so get there before then. The Purple Crab is located at 3916 Main Street (at 23rd) in Vancouver. Phone: (604) 484-2436 for reservations. No cover charge!

For a sneak peak at our group (and to listen to some sound clips!) please visit our website www.VerveCollective.ca. We are a six-member a cappella vocal jazz ensemble: Lannette New, Kate Polsky, Jennifer Nagel, Joel Smith, Peter Brasso, and Gerry Parsons.

Rise of the Kitara   Rise of the Kitara is online!
I can't believe I'm about to give you the link... if you missed the screening of "Rise of the Kitara", you can now view the crazy romantic comedy online. This was a Banoodles production, which placed 2nd in the 2006 Mighty Asian Moviemaking Marathon. It's at intake.ca in the Multicultural section.
WARNING not for young 'uns or the weak at heart, or for anyone who doesn't want to see me as anything less than angelic. :)
