Fun photos galore, a great video, and a movie invitation

Hi all! I'm back from a fun getaway where I took some cool photos that I'd like to share with you. I also attended the Folk Fest for the very first time and got some great pics there as well. Plus I got video of a great a capella jazz outfit called The Marmaladies - you've gotta hear them! But first up...

Join me to see HAIRSPRAY this Friday!

I've seen the musical, I've even sung some of the songs - so I'm really excited to see the big-screen version. And what better way to see it than with a bunch of friends! I'd like to go on opening night – this Friday – at a slightly early show (7-ish) and would love to get a group together. Please email me and let me know if you'd like to join me!

SF/LA Trip

In late June and early July, I made my annual summer/ birthday pilgrimage to Oakland and San Francisco to generally have fun and see friends and family. This time I also squeezed in a three-day trip to Los Angeles. I got to play with the new iPhone, saw an indoor thunderstorm, strolled the streets of the Haight-Ashbury and Beverly Hills... and got great photos all along the way. Click here to view them.

Folk Festival

I was fortunate enough to obtain a couple of free passes to the Folk Festival for Saturday, so me and my friend Maita were able to enjoy a day of fun and music. And dancing. And stilt walkers. (I even got an impromptu stilt-walking lesson!) See all the fun here.

The Marmaladies

Last Thursday, I attended a fantastic show by local a capella jazz group The Marmaladies. These four talented singers create smooth and jazzy harmonies - the show (their first "public" gig) was a delight! I managed to snag some choice video clips and have assembled them into a brief medley. Check it out!

If you like what you see and hear, be sure to come down to Georgia and Granville mid-day on August 20, 22 or 31, where they will be "busking" for the weekend crowds. (More details on their MySpace page.
