Little Women, Grease… and Mad Men?
Hi all!
A few new shows coming up on the Vancouver Musical Theatre Calendar (www.vancouvermusicals.com) to tell you about.
Little Women, The Musical comes to the Granville Island Revue Stage, September 3-5. Not familiar with this classic tale but I think it might involve a group of Victorian women who are shrunk down to microscopic size. Well, not sure about that last part.
Then in October, it’s Grease! This fun-filled romp about teenage romantic angst, peer pressure, social ostracism and drag racing is sure to be a delight. It’s also the show that’s responsible for countless karaoke renditions of “Summer Lovin’” – including one I personally participated in not long ago…
Taking the longer view, we have Legally Blonde and Mamma Mia both coming to the QE theatre in 2011 (March and August respectively). Never too early to plan your entertainment schedule, though.
A message from the editor
Here at VancouverMusicals.com, we stand for journalistic integrity, and would never veer off-topic to include something purely self-promotional. Well… almost never.
The exception is my bid to win the “Mad Men Casting Call” contest! I could win a walk-on role on my favourite show about great clothes and furniture and terrible behaviour in the 60′s.
Please vote for me at http://bit.ly/VoteForAdam and while you’re at it watch my hilarious (and super-short) video promoting my entry.
Oh, and please share the video with as many friends, co-workers and even complete strangers as you can! My only hope (admittedly a slender one) to win this is if that video goes viral. So spread that clip around if you can, folks. Thanks!
