Celebrate Verdi’s 200th Birthday
on Thursday October 10, at 7 pm
at Il Centro, 3075 Slocan Street
(Grandview Highway and Slocan)
In collaboration with City Opera Vancouver and the Italian Cultural Institute, IL CENTRO Italian Cultural Centre presents an evening of music and stories from the life of Italy’s most beloved composer: Giuseppe Verdi.
Four outstanding singers: Sarah Vardy, soprano; Rose-Ellen Nichols, mezzo soprano; Sunny Shams, tenor; and Andrew Greenwood, baritone, along with pianist David Boothroyd, will perform many of the great arias, duets, trios and, of course, the famous quartet from Rigoletto.
There will also be a few special treats: pieces from Verdi’s lesser known operas, and a chance to join in on well-known choruses. Please join us at this memorable event, held on the very day of Giuseppe Verdi’s birth.
We will honour this occasion with a complimentary glass of prosecco!
