This week… Mili Hong Trio… obviously with Mili on drums, and likely Eli Davidovici on bass, plus third mystery musician. Mili Hong began playing drums at the age of 16. She spent most of her life in South Korea until her early 20s, when she moved to Vancouver, Canada to study English and Music. At Capilano University she received a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies, majoring in Instrumental Performance and played in various ensembles from small combos to big bands which exposed her to numerous chances to explore different styles of drumming. Mili is now an important member of Vancouver’s Jazz scene through her playing in the Leo Bae Trio and the Eli Davidovici Band, but has also been involved in her alternative rock project, Moondle. 
Rio Theatre – Loving VincentNovember 26, 2017 4:15 pmThis feature-length painted animation — the first film of its kind — explores the life and unusual death of celebrated painter Vincent Van Gogh via depictions of his artworks, bringing the paintings to life to tell his remarkable story. Every one of the 65,000 frames of the film is an oil-painting, hand-painted by 125 professional oil-painters who traveled from all across the world to the LOVING VINCENT studios in Poland and Greece to be a part of the production.
