Based in Vancouver, the band features Nicaraguan singer-songwriter David Lopez, with Grammy Award-winning percussionist Toto Berriel on congas, Latin jazz trumpeter Malcolm Aiken, and a groove-heavy rhythm section featuring Chris Couto on timbales, Aaron McKinney on bass, and from Osaka Japan, pianist Niho Takase. $89 includes show and 3 course dinner. Guilt & Co – NYE with Dawn Pemberton Pay-what-you-can

A special New Year’s Eve night. ‘This Is Not a Band’ format  featuring one of Vancouver’s favourite singers of all time,  Dawn Pemberton. With a group instrumentalists who have not yet all performed together, Dawn is going to bring the Funk and Soul to 2018 like only she can while backed by a killer band.  With DJ Dule. (This man apparently  has one of the best record collections in the city.) Admission is pay what you can with a suggested donation of $15 to the band.

West Point Grey Legion – WOW Jazz Orchestra Free event

The WOW Jazz Orchestra is back!! Celebrating swing style bands of the 40s and 50s – Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glen Miller and Tommy Dorsey – just to mention a few. 10 pc jazz orchestra led by Jack Stafford, featuring arrangements by Paul Ruhland and Jack Fulton. Members include Derry Byrne on trumpet, Sharman King and Rod Murray on trombones, Steve Hilliam and Chris Startup on saxophones, Craig Scott on drums, Dave Guiney on bass and Oliver Gannon on guitar.
