AdamAbrams.com update: Vote for my photo / Dancing Matt lands me on the front page

July 17th 2008 PDT

July 17th, 2008 Help make my photo a winner! I’ve submitted the above photo to JPG Magazine under their category of “On Stage”. It’s a stage-eye view of one of the big group numbers from The Broadway Chorus show, “What Not To Wish”. No, we didn’t play to an empty house - this was taken during rehearsals! To give this picture your thumbs-up and help it get selected for the next issue of JPG, just visit its page on the JPG Magazine website. Just takes a mere moment - I really appreciate your support. The Broadway Chorus presents "What Not To Wish" this week!

June 16th 2008 PDT

This year’s Broadway Chorus production is a twisted fairy tale with quirky characters, a whimsical plot, and – course – great singing and dancing from a talented group of performers. Edward is the incompetent heir to the throne of Xanadu, labouring under a witches’ curse. Mildred is a Junior Witch who secretly pines for the Emperor. Will they overcome the obstacles in the path of their true love? Will the peasants succeed in their clever plan to infiltrate the halls of power, or will there ...Continue Reading

Date Change for INDY 4!

May 14th 2008 PDT

Well, I made a whopper of a mistake. The premiere for Indy 4 is on THURSDAY, May 22! I had the 24th in my calendar for so long... and in my quest not to hear any "spoilers" about the movie, I ignored most of the publicity - including, I guess, the revised release date! So, it looks like it will be an Indiana Jones weekend for me... 'cause I'm not about to miss seeing it on opening day. However, I'll be there on Saturday too. So... if you were interested but couldn't make it on Saturday - how does two days e ...Continue Reading

May 11th 2008 PDT

May 11th, 2008 Join me to see “Indy 4″! Almost 20 years after Indiana Jones last galloped across the big screen in “The Last Crusade”, the bullwhip-cracking hero is back on Saturday, May 24. As a diehard “Raiders” fan, I plan to be there on the first day and would love to get a group of friends together to share the adventure of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! Naturally, I’ll be in full Indy regalia, and I encourage you to also “dress up” in the spirit of this 1930’s adventure! The Schedule: I loc ...Continue Reading

NEW DATE! "Last Gasp" Kingsway Cruise moves to Monday 3/24

March 17th 2008 PDT

Hi all! Due to unavoidable circumstances, the Last Gasp Kingsway Cruise has been shifted a day forward. We will now embark on our incredible journey to the past on Monday, March 24. It seems that this is a holiday for most (or possibly everyone) and perhaps even more people can join in since it's not right in the middle of a long weekend. I hope it doesn't affect the ability to attend for those who have already expressed interest. Full details (with updated date/time) can still be found here: http://adamabrams.com/i ...Continue Reading

Join my “Last Gasp Kingsway Cruise” Sunday, March 23 - Wally's Burgers and the 2400 Motel!

March 12th 2008 PDT

March 12th, 2008 Join my “Vanishing Kingsway Tour” Sunday, March 23 March 23, 200811:00 amto2:00 pm Hi all, I was saddened to read of the imminent closing of Wally’s Burgers on Kingsway at the end of this month, and the resulting disappearance of one last bit of that strip’s historic car culture. Between that and the looming “redevelopment” of the 2400 Motel, the last one standing of many such motels that used to line Kingsway, the little historic character that remains on the “Royal Road” will soon be a memory. So, I ...Continue Reading

AdamAbrams.com update: "Poor Super Man" and the Vancouver Freeze!

March 7th 2008 PDT

March 8th, 2008 For this month’s update, I’m featuring the play “Poor Super Man” at the Waterfront - for which I created captions and projections that appear throughout. It’s an edgy play sprinkled with nudity and sex (which is why I’m glad I’m behind the scenes, not onstage!) - but it also has big laughs, affecting characters, and a lot of heart. I highly recommend it. Read more below. Also, I had to join in the Vancouver Freeze, a public art / performance type of thing, inspired by a similar event in NYC. For five ...Continue Reading
